Acknowledgments: I Never Realized I Could Grow So Much in 9 Months
“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get” is a clich é that defines the 11 AP experience. Throughout the school year, we have delved into all types of languages from irony/satire to oxymorons to my favorite, clichés. I used to be more judgemental of them due to the fact they’re so common and simplistic. However, this class has taught me that just because a writing style isn’t similar to ours doesn’t mean it has no value. 11 AP has empowered me not only as a writer but as a speaker. Every day in this class is a surprise, which is frightening. However, it has contributed to my character development, which I carry with me everywhere I go. The values I have developed are universal. During my time in 11 AP, I have altered how I perceive our world and have acquired the ability to be more assertive as a writer and person. This class certainly took some time to get used to.
